Caroline Orinda

Key Stage 1 Coordinator & Teacher

Bachelors of Education & Early Childhood Development

I am Ms. Caroline, a dedicated and experienced primary school teacher with over 13 years of classroom experience. My journey in education began in Kenya, where I worked as an elementary homeroom teacher for KS1. I then expanded my expertise to South East Asia, serving as a Primary Education Adviser with VSO and UNICEF. In this role, I focused on training teachers and co-authored a book on gender issues. For the past six years, I have been working in Oman as a language acquisition and ESL teacher for students from Grade 1 to Grade 4.

In addition to my teaching roles, I am skilled as a reading interventionist, providing support to elementary students struggling with English. My efforts in education were recognised when I was awarded the title of "Best Elementary Teacher" in the Seeb ward of Muscat for the year 2022-2023.

At my school, I play a vital role in assisting students to enhance their reading, writing, and literacy skills. This includes assessing their individual needs, offering instructional assistance, and managing classroom dynamics effectively. I hold a Bachelor of Education Degree (Honours) in Early Childhood Education.

I am confident in my ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment for young learners. My teaching philosophy centers on the belief that every child deserves a quality education. I am committed to providing the necessary support and guidance to help my students reach their full potential.

I currently am the Year 2 Homeroom teacher and Academics Lead at Maple Bloom Elementary.

Welcome to my classroom and our school :)
