Homeroom Teacher - Year 7

Bachelor of Arts FHNW in Primary Education

Hello! My name is Branislav Joksic, and I’ve had the joy of teaching for over 8 years. I was born in Serbia, grew up in Switzerland, and studied pedagogy there. During my years in Swiss schools, I taught children from Years 1 to 6, and I had the privilege of working with a mixed-age class from Years 4 to 6. Those experiences shaped my understanding of how unique each child’s learning journey truly is.

The opportunity to be part of a child's growth, to help them discover their potential, is what drives me every day. I’ve always been committed to expanding my own knowledge through ongoing professional development, because I believe that we, as teachers, need to keep learning to support our students better.

One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching in Switzerland was the opportunity to teach a wide variety of subjects. Over the years, I’ve also learned six languages, which has greatly helped me in my teaching career. This holistic approach has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of how different disciplines connect, helping me provide a more integrated learning experience for my students.

Now, as part of the Maple Bloom School—an innovative, forward-thinking institution—I am honored to teach Year 7. Maple Bloom’s vision of providing students with a future-focused education aligns perfectly with my own values. My aim is to create a classroom environment where students feel empowered, understood, and inspired. I strive to support each student’s unique strengths while addressing their challenges. I encourage them to embrace independence, take ownership of their learning, and develop a growth mindset.

For me, teaching goes far beyond academics. I see myself as not only an instructor but also as a coach and mentor. I am here to support my students in every way

possible—helping them build confidence, resilience, and the skills they need to succeed, not just in school but in life. Watching them grow, overcome challenges, and reach their goals is the greatest reward of all.
