EY Practitioner and Deputy SENCO

In the realm of early childhood education and special needs support, every interaction, every moment, holds the potential to shape a child's future. As an Early Years Practitioner and Deputy Special Needs Coordinator, my journey has been defined by a profound dedication to unlocking this potential, to empowering children and families, and to fostering environments where every child can flourish.

My path to this vocation has been unconventional yet enriching, shaped by a diverse educational background and a relentless passion for making a difference in the lives of young learners. Armed with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing, I embarked on a journey that would ultimately lead me to the heart of childhood development. It was during this time that I realized my true calling lay not in profit margins and market strategies, but in the boundless possibilities inherent in the growth and development of young minds.

Driven by this realization, I pursued further studies, obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work—a decision that would deepen my understanding of the complexities of human development and ignite a fire within me to advocate for those often marginalized by society. Yet, my journey did not end there. Currently nearing completion of my Master's in Social Work, with a specialization in Children and Family Services, I am continuously honing my expertise, ensuring that my practice remains informed by the latest research and best practices in the field.

At the heart of my work lies a commitment to holistic development—an approach that integrates my background in business administration with the principles of social work to address the multifaceted needs of children. For me, assisting children, especially those with special needs, isn't just a profession—it's a calling. It's a calling that compels me to create inclusive environments where every child, regardless of ability, feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working in a variety of settings—from academia administration, the hospital to nonprofit organizations—each experience serving to deepen my understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities inherent in early childhood education and special needs support. Whether facilitating the holistic development of children at Maple Bloom Preschool or advocating for the rights of children and families in need, my mission remains unwavering: to empower every child with the tools and support needed to thrive.

In this pursuit, collaboration is key. I have had the privilege of collaborating with families, educators, and specialists to provide comprehensive support for children's development, recognizing that it truly takes a village to nurture the potential of every child. Together, we have created spaces where children can learn, grow, and flourish, setting them on a trajectory that sets them apart and propels them ahead.

As I reflect on my journey thus far, I am filled with gratitude—for the children whose resilience and curiosity inspire me each day, for the families who entrust me with their most precious treasures, and for the colleagues and mentors who have guided and supported me along the way. Yet, amidst this gratitude lies a steadfast commitment—to continue learning, to continue advocating, and to continue nurturing the potential that lies within each and every child. For in their growth and development lies the promise of a brighter, more inclusive future for us all.
